Chest Pain
Sol Zalstein, Director of Emergency (Bendigo Health Care Group) is presenting an intriguing case study on a patient with Chest Pain, delving into the clinical and laboratory result interpretation making the diagnosis, covering various differential diagnoses in the process.
Pathologist David Deam (Gribbles Pathology) who will be exploring the scientific aspects of this case, with emphasis placed on what you need to know on the bench level.
Envenomation
Bill Nemo, An Emergency physician and consultant for the Australian Venom Research Unit, will present a case study on Snakes and Snake bite envenomation.
Cheng Ong, CSL Representative who will explore venom detection in the scientific Lab and demonstrate the current Snake Bite Kits available.
The Unconscious Patient
Sol Zalstein will be back to show the extensive process of an Emergency physician diagnosing an unconscious patient, with an emphasis on the use of diagnostic pathology to aid the clinical decision making process.
Pathologist David Deam, will again follow Sol to who will explain the clinical relevance of results found and how the Medical Scientist and the laboratory can assist in the workup of this patient.
