Deborah Shapira is a cell biologist at Molecular and Health Technologies, CSIRO, and is currently engaged in the Preventative Health Flagship researching the epigenetics of colorectal cancer. She has worked for over 25 years in clinical and research flow cytometry and antibody research in clinical laboratories, government institutions and the private sector in Sydney, Melbourne, Jerusalem and Rehovot. |
The Investigation of Alternative Immunisation Strategies in Developing Countries to Prevent Pneumococcal Disease
Anne Balloch is the Senior Research Officer in the Pneumococcal Laboratory, Murdoch Children's Research Institute, Melbourne. Anne has extensive experience working in diagnostic and research laboratories. the Pneumococcal Laboratory at MCRI was established in 2004 and is the only laboratory worldwide which offers this range of testing to the 23v pneumococcal vaccine, Pneumovax. The laboratory provides diagnostic support for the Fiji Pneumococcal Vaccine Trial and the PneuMum maternal immunisation trial in the Northern Territory. Anne will present results from these trials in her presentation at the 2008 National AIMS conference. |
