Karen’s interest in governance and productive health policy led to her current work with the Victorian Department of Human Services’ Blood Matters: better, safer transfusion program. |
Key Incident Monitoring and Management Systems (KIMMS)
Ms Penny is the Quality Manager for the RCPA Quality Assurance Programs Pty Limited responsible for maintaining a quality system within the RCPA QA Programs and has seen 9 programs accredited to ILAC G13:2000 Guidelines for the Requirements for the Competence of Providers of Proficiency Testing Schemes and 3 offices, Central Office, Enrolment Office and Benchmarking in Pathology QAP, certified to ISO 9000 Quality management systems - Requirements. Penny is also the Coordinator of the new project Key Incident Monitoring & Management Systems (KIMMS), a patient safety project initiated by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). Penny worked in RCPA Haematology QAP from 1989-2002 and prior to that as a scientist, for 10 years, in the Haematology/Transfusion laboratory at a large teaching hospital in Sydney. Penny is a member of the * Australian Organisation for Quality (AOQ NSW), * National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), * NATA Proficiency Testing Scheme Providers Accreditation Advisory Committee (PTSPAAC) and * ILAC PT Consultative Group. |
Victorian Workforce Initiatives
Dr Jacqueline Martin is a medical scientist who worked as Research Manager for the Australian & New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) where she was responsible for the collection and analysis of intensive care data. This data enabled modelling of the preparedness of Australian and New Zealand intensive care units (ICUs) for an influenza pandemic. Jacqueline is currently working as a senior policy adviser in Workforce Innovation section of the Service & Workforce Planning Branch, Department of Human Services Victoria. |
