A/Professor Tony Woods completed a Science degree with Honours and a PhD at the University of Western Australia before moving to the University of South Australia in 1979 where he currently leads the Laboratory Medicine program. While primarily a histologist, his major interest is in blood vessels and cancer and he has recently began studying venoms as a potential source of anti-cancer agents. He is co-editor of the Australian Journal of Medical Science and a member of several other editorial boards. He will assume the role of AIMS President at the AGM this week. Tony also holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and psychology from the University of Adelaide.
